Juniper Ledger. Bookkeeping & tax practice, three-person team · Larchmont Village, Los Angeles
A bookkeeping site that turns February inquiries into ready-to-prepare files.
Concept buildJuniper Ledger is a fictional business. Here’s what we’d build for a business like yours.
The problem · sound familiar?
Every February we asked the same questions forty times.
New clients found us by email, and every thread started from zero. Documents came in pieces across five replies. Follow-ups slipped once we got busy, and by late January the backlog pushed the real work into nights.
What we’d build
The site asks the questions. The pipeline remembers.
Each service page explains one type of return in plain words and shows where the price starts. The intake form branches by business type, so a rideshare driver and a two-owner S-corp each get their own questions, then book a call. The moment an engagement letter is signed, the right document checklist goes out on its own. Any inquiry nobody has answered in one business day turns red on the board.
Designed to
- Show a starting price for every type of return before anyone has to ask
- Ask each business only the questions that apply to it, then book the call
- Make an inquiry that has waited a full business day impossible to miss
Creative direction
Where the look comes from.
The look comes from ledger paper and a fountain pen: ruled lines, double total rules, tabular figures and a serif italic for anything written by hand. Juniper green and an old-ledger gold keep it quiet, and red ink is saved for the one inquiry that needs a call.

VoiceCalm and exact, like a good accountant walking you through a form across the desk: plain words, real numbers, nothing rushed.
Up close
Three details that do the work.
01
An intake form that branches by business type
A sole prop with 1099 income and a two-owner S-corp each see their own questions. Every path ends at the calendar with a 20-minute call.
02
A document checklist that sends itself
The moment an engagement letter is signed, the checklist for that business type goes out by email. Reminders follow every three business days until it is complete.
03
A pipeline that flags slow replies
Every inquiry moves through four stages, from new inquiry to ready to prepare. Anything not contacted within one business day turns red and tells the owner.
